One Piece teased Kizaru’s fate, but no one noticed

You could have missed the tiny indication about Kizaru's future in the Egghead Arc on the cover of the forthcoming One Piece manga volume.

Ingenious foreshadowing is a hallmark of One Piece. It has often astounded readers throughout the course of the manga's 27-year existence. The manga's writer, Eiichiro Oda, is infamous for withholding the destiny of his characters in minute, often indiscernible elements.

One Piece Volume 109's cover has one such clue. It is named "On Your Side" and is scheduled for release on July 4. There are ten chapters in the book, numbered 1101 through 1110. The Gorosei meeting on Egghead Island marks the conclusion of the story, which begins in the midst of Kuma's flashback.

The endearing bond between Kuma and his adoptive daughter Bonney is the central theme of this book, and the cover image reflects this. Little Bonney is shown cuddling her father in this lovely image, which has Gear 5 Luffy and Egghead Island in the backdrop.

Additionally, there are more individuals on the cover. Stussy indulgently watches as Dr. Vegapunk and Sentomaru are seen dancing gleefully like the Sun God Nika. Additionally, Kizaru may be seen dancing with the people he tried to kill in the Egghead Arc.

Given that Luffy's buddies are the other characters, Kizaru's inclusion on the cover seems puzzling. In addition, his expression is beaming, just like Kizaru did when he first saw Sentomaru and Vegapunk. The Admiral may be hinting to a party switch before the story arc concludes.

Fans have been wondering if Kizaru will betray the World Government. His relationship with the scientist was heartwarming, and at the last second, his devotion to his longtime buddy could come through.

However, there is another equally likely possibility. Sentomaru is dancing and facing left on the One Piece volume cover, while Vegapunk and Kizaru are facing right. It should be mentioned that Sentomaru is still living, but Vegapunk has passed away.

By facing the same direction, Kizaru may also meet his demise at the conclusion of this story arc. Though it's a very faint indication, considering Oda's past performance, one may predict something along these lines.

As one fan said on X/Twitter, "Once again, Kizaru is dancing in the same direction as Vegapunk," there are other fans who have similar thoughts. This suggests Kizaru's demise.

On Reddit, someone else said, "Why is Kizaru performing the Nika dance? Is Oda implying that Kizaru will change his mind? A third concurred, saying, "Kizaru is dancing the Nika way. That's HUGE NEWS! as Kizaru could decide to change sides, just "let the Straw Hats go," or commit another act of betrayal.

It remains to be seen if Kizaru truly betrays the Gorosei in order to allow the Straw Hat Pirates to go. However, the cover of One Piece Volume 109 undoubtedly provokes conjecture and prompts us to consider a plethora of ideas regarding the fate of the Admiral.
